" Move cursor down "

To invoke this command, say: " move cursor down "
" move mouse down "

Say " move cursor down " in order to command SpeechVibe to start moving the cursor downwards.

In order to modify the cursor's speed upon recognition of this voice command, the 'Cursor speed' value in the 'Mouse control' page of the preferences is referred to.

 
 
Requirements to access the " Move cursor down " voice command
 

  • The microphone needs to be on.
  • If the microphone is already on, the SpeechVibe icon in the system tray is . This requirement is then fulfilled.

    If the SpeechVibe icon in the system tray is , then the microphone is sleeping. To turn it on, you can:
    • Say " microphone on ".
    • Say the attention word. The default attention word that you can change in your preferences is " computer ". When the attention word is recognized, the microphone will be turned on but SpeechVibe will turn it back to sleep after 10 to 30 seconds (depending on your preferences) following the last recognized command.
    • Click on the icon with the left mouse button.
    • Click on the icon with the right mouse button and select the Microphone on item from the menu.
    If the SpeechVibe icon in the system tray is , then the microphone is off. To turn it on, you can:
    • Click on the icon with the left mouse button.
    • Click on the icon with the right mouse button and select the Microphone on item from the menu.
    If the SpeechVibe icon in the system tray is , then the microphone is off and not available. To turn it on, you need to:
    1. Click on the icon in order to bring the modal window blocking the microphone to the front. Typically, the preference window causes the microphone to become unavailable since SpeechVibe can't be used while it is modifying its own settings.
    2. Close the modal window so that the microphone is restored to its original state.
    If the SpeechVibe icon in the system tray is , then an error occured. Restart SpeechVibe by right-clicking on and then selecting the Exit menu item and relaunching SpeechVibe from the Start Windows menu. If after relaunching SpeechVibe the error icon reappears, contact SpeechVibe's technical support.

  • Mouse Control needs to be enabled for the context (by default it is).
  • If the status icon associated with Mouse Control has a green or yellow background (as shown below with a yellow background within the red circle), then Mouse Control is available for the context.

    If the status icons are not visible, say " Flash SpeechVibe " and they will be shown momentarily.
     
    If the status icon associated with Mouse Control has a red background (as shown below within the red circle), then Mouse Control is disabled for the context.

    To enable Mouse Control for the context, invoke the preferences from the SpeechVibe menu. In the 'General' page, set the 'Mouse control' feature to 'Enabled' (as shown below).
     

  • Mouse movement commands need to be enabled (by default it is not).
  • The 'Enable cursor movement commands' check-box needs to be selected in the 'Mouse control' page of the preferences for this voice command to be available.

  • The built-in command " Move cursor down " needs to be enabled for the context (by default it is).
  • In SpeechVibe, every command can be disabled or customized accordingly to the speaker's wishes. From the 'Built-in commands' page in the preferences, ensure that the Move cursor down voice command has the 'Enable built-in ways to invoke' check box selected. In order to see that user-interface, you will need to switch to the 'Advanced view' in the preferences window.

    Should the built-in command " Move cursor down " have the 'Enable built-in ways to invoke' check-box not selected, then it is not possible to say " Move cursor down " and have it recognized by SpeechVibe. In that event, the ways to invoke the voice command Move cursor down is not by saying " Move cursor down " but by saying it as described in the 'Custom ways to invoke'. If 'Custom ways to invoke' is empty and 'Enable built-in ways to invoke' check-box is not selected, then it is not possible to invoke the voice command " Move cursor down ".

  • IMPORTANT: SpeechVibe needs to be actively listening.
  • When the microphone is on or sleeping and it is actively listening, the microphone icon's border in the system tray moves. If you do not see the icon's border move, SpeechVibe or Windows is busy on another task. Do not talk when SpeechVibe is not actively listening. Instead wait for the icon in the system tray to move again before talking.
    Default accuracy required:  Low accuracy
